I started another new kind of crafty, kind of domestic, lots of fun activity last week. I had never heard of digital scrapbooking before coming across it on a blog last week, but after looking into it I am definitely loving it. I like scrapbooking but it’s just too expensive...until now. Plus, I avoid gluey, glittery, sticky fingers and layout remorse (which happens when I finish a page and realize something would have looked much better if only I had put it two inches to the left...or something like that). There are TONS of free downloads if you surf the sites, so I have spent a lot of time downloading and am just now starting to use all the things I have to makes pages. But without further ado, here is the few pages I have put together so far (Click on them to make them bigger!):

I have heard of digital scrapbooking and have some friends that do it, but I don't know exactly how it works. Love your pages, great job! Only problem is.... YOU are not in any of the pictures. Seems like you should be sitting with them on the beach as well
ReplyDeleteYou have done an awesome job. You will have to let me know more about this stuff. Can you print them from your own printer or do you have to order them?
ReplyDeleteThanks Court! And a perk to being the photographer/scrapbooker is that I get to avoid the pictures of myself!
ReplyDeleteAnd Staci, Thanks :) I will tell you everything I know (which wouldn't take long haha) But I have read a bunch of stuff about printing them and basically what I've got is that you can a) buy a "wide" printer to print 12x12 pages, b) get them printed at kinkos or somewhere similar, OR C) Print them on normal photo paper in a 9x9 layout instead and just make a 9x9 book. Cheaper than 12x12 anyway and they say everything still looks great/is still easy to read at 9x9 size. Needless to say, that's my plan!
Love the pages. Want to do all the family's stuff?
ReplyDeleteI've heard of it too, but never really looked into it. Can you post a few easy links that might help the challenged like me get started? Love your pages!
ReplyDeleteHey Kehau, http://theshabbyshoppe.com/tutorials/software_tutorials.asp is a good place to go for some tutorials to get you started. And http://www.shabbyprincess.com/downloads.asp will get you a couple free kits to download so you can start making pages. There are tons of sites with free kits or items, I just googled "digital scrapbooking" and then went to different websites and looked for "Freebies" or something like that. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteAnd no thanks mom, I have two years/hundreds of pictures of my own family to get done. Maybe when I catch up on that I would consider it... :)
